Pigmy Dragons

These are small dragons that usually have multi-colored scales. They are about 2 feet in length and the average weight is 40 pounds. They have large, wattery eyes. The lids close sideways. They can breath fire to keep their eggs warm. The Female is smaller than the male, and has more of the cool colors. She is not so bright. Unlike their larger cousins, the color desides rank. The Purpleish-blue ones are usually mated to the dominant male of the tribes. The greens and blues are the most common of the females. The males are 2-3 feet long. They usually have scales of red and orange. The Dragon that is the firery red scales is a natural leader. The oranges and yellows are most common for the males. When a red male reaches it's prime, it takes off with some other folowers and starts a new colony. The females can lay eggs at any time of the year. The males usually don't spend a lot of time with the hatchlings, but they do protect them when danger is near. In every colony there is a "nursery" of some sort run by one or more of the females.
